so ive been flying my mini 3 pro for about 6 months now and last weekend i finally got conditions that were just perfect ? golden hour, barely any wind, lake was completely flat. managed to pull off a slow orbit around this little island and the colors were insane. dropped the footage on youtube if anyone wants to check it out, link in my profile.

honestly still not sure about my color grading though. i used the d-log profile and tried to do a basic grade in davinci but i feel like the highlights are still a bit blown out near the water. anyone else have this issue with the mini 3 in bright conditions or is it just me not knowing what im doing in post lol

the highlight rolloff on the mini 3 is just not great compared to something with a bigger sensor, thats just the reality of it. in d-log i usually pull the highlights way down before i do anything else, like drag them to -60 or so before even touching the color wheels. also make sure youre exposing to the left a little when shooting into bright skies, better to recover shadows than blown highlights.

would love to see the footage though, lake shots can look incredible if the conditions are right
