this has been bugging me for a while and i finally decided to post about it. so my mavic 3 classic, about 8 months old, randomly gets these super brief signal drops. its not like a full disconnect where it goes into RTH or anything, more like the video feed stutters and the RC goes gray for maybe half a second then comes right back. happens maybe 3 or 4 times per flight and its not consistent, sometimes it doesnt happen at all.

ive tried different flying locations so i dont think its purely interference but honestly who knows. im using the RC controller not my phone. firmware is up to date, ive checked that. doesnt seem to correlate with distance either, happened once when i was only like 80 meters away and other times it doesnt happen at all at 600+ meters.

anyone dealt with this or have any idea what to look at first because i feel like im just flying around waiting for it to happen and its making me nervous even though nothing bad has happened yet

check if there are any apps running in the background on the RC that shouldnt be. also had something simlar on my RC2 a while back and it turned out refreshing the controller firmware fixed it even though it said it was already current. the DJI app sometimes shows firmware as up to date when theres actually a pending update hiding in there, sounds dumb but worth trying. also make sure your antennas on the controller are oriented properly relative to the drone, people forget that one a lot

i get occasional micro-stutters on mine too and i mostly just ignore it at this point. as long as the drone isnt actually doing anything weird mid flight i wouldnt lose too much sleep over it, the RC connection on these is pretty robust and a half second blip isnt usually a sign of anything serious. that said if it starts getting worse or more frequent id probably reach out to DJI support and see if they want to look at logs, they can pull the flight data and see if anything stands out on their end
