so i've been studying for about 6 weeks now and my test is scheduled for next tuesday. i feel pretty okay about most of it but airspace is still kind of tripping me up, especially the class b stuff and reading the sectional charts. i've been using the Sportys prep course and some youtube videos but im not sure if i'm missing anything important. does the actual test feel anything like the practice tests? i heard some people say it's way harder and some say it's easier so i really cant tell what to expect. also do they let you bring scratch paper or anything like that?

yeah they give you scratch paper at the testing center, at least every one i've heard of does. the proctor hands it to you before you start. the test itself felt pretty similar to the practice exams honestly, the wording was a little tricky on a few questions but nothing wildly different from what Sportys prepares you for. the sectional chart stuff was the part that got me too ? just spend some time on the FAA's own chart supplement and really learn what the different magenta vs blue airspace rings mean. that clicked for me eventually. you'll probably be fine if you've been at it 6 weeks.

i just passed mine like two months ago so this is fresh for me. the airspace questions werent as bad as i thought on the actual exam, but there were a couple weather questions that totally caught me off guard, like about reading METARs and TAFs. i hadnt practiced those enough. if you have a few days left id honestly spend time on those. also dont second guess yourself too much on the day, my first instinct was right on most of the ones i was unsure about.
