new FAA remote ID rules actually being enforced now or still mostly ignored?

so the full enforcement deadline came and went and i havent really heard much about anyone actually getting cited or warned. flew at a local park last weekend and nobody said anything, no ranger, no nothing. im fully compliant btw, have been since before the deadline, just curious what the actual on-the-ground reality is for people.

i know a few guys at my local club who still havent sorted out their remote ID situation ? one of them is running an older quad that doesnt have it built in and keeps saying hes gonna get the broadcast module but just hasnt. part of me wonders if theyre just waiting to see if anyone actually cares before spending the money.

has anyone had an actual enforcement interaction or know someone who has? or is this one of those regulations that exists more on paper for now? not asking so i can ignore it, genuinely just trying to understand how seriously people should be taking this in day to day flying

from what ive seen it's mostly complaint-driven right now, meaning they're not exactly sending inspectors to random parks but if someone calls in a complaint about a drone and an officer responds and you dont have compliant remote ID that's when it could actually bite you. the enforcement infrastructure just isnt really there yet for proactive enforcement at scale.

that said i wouldnt use that as an excuse to skip it. the broadcast modules are like 50 bucks and it takes an afternoon to set up. not worth the risk even if the odds are low, especially as the rules tighten up around airports and populated areas which they definitely will.

had a park ranger ask to see my registration last summer but they didnt even mention remote ID, werent really sure what it was tbh. so yeah enforcement is pretty patchy depending on where you are. different story if youre flying anywhere near controlled airspace though, those guys tend to know their stuff
