finally got my Mavic 3 Classic and had my first real flight yesterday

so i've been flying a Mini 2 for about two years and finally pulled the trigger on the Mavic 3 Classic last week. honestly was a little nervous about stepping up to something this size but man the difference is just... a lot to take in at first.

first thing i noticed was how much more stable it felt in the wind, there was a decent breeze yesterday maybe 15-18mph and it just sat there like it was on rails. the Mini 2 would've been twitching around and i'd have been nervous the whole time. also the Hasselblad sensor is no joke, i came home and started going through the footage and just kind of stared at it for a bit. the dynamic range in the sky shots especially.

one thing that caught me off guard though was the obstacle avoidance -- i had it in Normal mode and it kept slowing down or stopping when i was trying to do a slow pull back over some trees. not a complaint really just wasnt expecting it to be that aggressive. anyone else adjust the sensitivity on that or just fly in Cine mode more to have smoother control overall? still figuring out the settings.

congrats on the upgrade, the jump from Mini 2 to M3C is pretty significant. i went through the same thing with the obstacle avoidance, for cinematic shots i usually just put it in APAS off or switch to Cine mode like you said. once you get comfortable with the aircraft you'll probably leave APAS off more often than not anyway, it can get really hesitant in wooded areas or anywhere with branches.

also if you havent already, go into the camera settings and make sure youre shooting in D-Log M, the straight up Normal color profile is fine for quick stuff but you're leaving a lot on the table with that sensor if you dont grade it. takes a little getting used to in post but worth it.

thats awesome! im still on my Mini 2 and keep telling myself im happy with it lol but reading stuff like this doesnt help. the wind handling on the M3C sounds amazing, thats honestly my biggest frustration right now is anything over like 12mph and im just watching the battery drain fighting to hold position.
