so i finally went to one of those community fly-in events last weekend, the one out at the fairgrounds, and it was honestly a mixed bag. like it was cool to see so many different rigs in one place, someone had a massive octocopter that looked like it could carry a person and that thing was loud as hell. but i felt a little out of place because i just have a mini 3 and everyone else seemed to have these big custom builds or cinematography setups. nobody was unfriendly or anything it just felt like i wandered into a car show with a honda civic. maybe i was overthinking it. did talk to one guy for like 20 minutes about nd filters which was actually pretty useful so i guess it wasnt a total wash

that honda civic feeling is real, i get it. went to my first meetup with a mavic air and felt the same way. but honestly after a few of them you realize most people dont care what you fly, they just wanna talk drones. the custom build guys are usually stoked to talk to anyone who shows interest

the filter conversation was probably worth the whole trip honestly, that stuff can be confusing when youre first figuring it out and getting to talk to someone in person beats watching youtube tutorials for the 5th time
