so ive been going back and forth on this for like three weeks now and i keep landing on the Nano+ mostly because of the obstacle avoidance and the fact that it shoots 50mp stills which honestly seems insane for something that size. but every youtube video i watch is basically a DJI ad at this point so its hard to find real opinions

my main use is gonna be travel photography, some hiking, i dont really care about video that much. the Nano+ seems like the better camera but im worried about the ecosystem, like software support and firmware updates. autel has kind of a reputation for being slow on that stuff? or is that old info

anyone actually running one of these day to day and can tell me if its worth it or should i just get the Mini 3 and be done with it

I ran the original EVO II for a couple years before switching and honestly Autel makes solid hardware, the camera quality on the Nano+ is genuinely better than people give it credit for. the 1/1.28" sensor does real work in low light compared to what the Mini 3 is packing

that said your concern about firmware support is not wrong, they have gotten better but its still not as snappy as DJI when something needs a patch. for pure travel photography though if you mostly shoot stills and arent relying on a bunch of smart flight modes you probably wont even notice. the app is fine, nothing exciting but it works. i wouldnt call it a mistake, just a different trade-off

i just got the Nano+ like two months ago and came from nothing so i cant compare but its been really easy to fly honestly, the obstacle avoidance saved me probably twice already in tight spots near trees. the photos look amazing to me but im not like a pro or anything lol
