props keep washing out on hard rolls ? think its a tuning thing but not 100%

so anyway this has been bugging me for a few weeks now. running a 4inch on 4s, Nazgul Evoque F4 frame, 1404 motors, HGLRC Zeus F722 stack. quad flies pretty okay most of the time but when i do fast rolls especially at higher throttle the back end kind of washes out or feels like it loses authority partway through. its not a crash level thing but it feels sloppy and i hate it

ive messed with D term a bit, tried bumping D on roll axis and it helped like 10% maybe but didnt really fix it. someone in another thread mentioned propwash but this feels different, its more like the quad just runs out of steam halfway through the maneuver rather than oscillating. motors dont sound bad, temps are fine after flying

im on 5152 tri-blade props right now, was thinking maybe going to a different prop would help but i also dont want to just throw parts at it if its a software thing. RPM filter is on, dynamic idle is set to 35 which i read somewhere is a decent starting point for 4inch

might also be worth checking your master multiplier and seeing if your P and I are balanced right, sometimes when I feels too low on roll it can give you that kind of trailing off sensation especially

that description sounds less like propwash and more like you might be hitting the throttle limit or the motors just dont have the headroom at that point in the maneuver. what does your blackbox show for motor outputs during those rolls? if youre seeing any motors pinned at 100 or near it thats your answer and no amount of D tuning is gonna fix it, its a physical limitation thing

also 35 for dynamic idle on a 4inch feels a little low to me, i usually run mine higher like 40-42 on smaller builds, gives the motors more to work with during flips and rolls when theyre unloaded. worth trying before you go buying new props

might also be worth checking your master multiplier and seeing if your P and I are balanced right, sometimes when I feels too low on roll it can give you that kind of trailing off sensation especially at speed. ive chased similar symptoms before and it turned out my I term was just way too conservative from a paste I had done from a different build. not saying thats definitely it but blackbox is gonna tell you way more than guessing

also what battery are you running? seen some people have issues with voltage sag on cheaper packs basically robbing power at the worst moment
