Spray drift concerns with current nozzle regulations - seeking real-world experiences

There are questions about the quality, efficacy and safety of applications from drones and rising unease among researchers and experts in the more 'traditional' spraying community. I've been seeing this debate heating up, especially with new EU regulations requiring 75% drift reduction technology.

For those operating in areas with strict drift requirements - what's your real-world experience with air induction vs standard flat fan nozzles? The research shows the crop coverage with the AI nozzle was 130% higher than that with the flat fan nozzle. The drift reduction of AI nozzles increased the coverage of spray droplets.

My concern is balancing drift reduction with penetration, especially in dense canopy crops. Low drone payloads mean they are unable to carry much liquid, so by necessity they must use low application volumes to provide any sort of productivity. Are we potentially sacrificing efficacy for compliance?

Been running AI nozzles for two seasons now. The AI nozzle raised less drift, so it should be considered for use in aerial control. Yes, you get better coverage numbers, but I've noticed slightly reduced penetration in thick soybean canopies compared to XR110015 tips.

The regulations are there for good reason. My primary concern is around spray drift - we can't ignore environmental impact. I'd rather have 90% efficacy with zero drift than 100% efficacy with potential off-target movement. Have you considered adjusting carrier volume?

I think the key is matching nozzle choice to specific applications. Use AI nozzles near sensitive areas or property lines, switch to flat fans for dense canopy work. Modern flight controllers make nozzle switching mid-mission pretty straightforward. Why not get the best of both worlds?
