finally picked up an EVO II Pro 6K ? some thoughts after a few weeks

so ive had the EVO II Pro 6K for about three weeks now and figured id share some thoughts since i spent a lot of time reading threads like this before buying. came from a Mavic 2 Pro so thats my main reference point.

first thing i noticed is the build feels really solid, like noticeably more chunky than the Mavic. the folding arms are a bit awkward at first but you get used to it. the 1 inch sensor with the adjustable aperture is the whole reason i went this route and honestly the image quality is great, really happy with that side of things.

the Autel Sky app though... its fine, its functional, but its just not as polished as DJI GO or Fly. sometimes it takes a second to connect and theres been maybe twice where i had to restart the app before it would find the bird. nothing catastrophic but worth mentioning.

one thing nobody really warned me about is how LOUD this thing is compared to the Mavic. not unbearable but definitely not subtle. flew it near a park last weekend and got a few looks.

range has been solid, no complaints there. havent pushed it to its limits but at around 800m it was still rock solid on video feed. overall pretty happy with it, just had to adjust my expectations on the software side. curious if anyone has found any must-have accessories for this thing, im looking at ND filters right now.

the app thing gets better honestly, there have been a couple updates since launch and it feels more stable than it did when i first got mine around 8 months ago. still not DJI level but its getting there. for ND filters i went with the Freewell set and they fit fine, no vignetting issues at least on the wide end. some people go with PolarPro but theyre pricier and i havent noticed a huge difference personally. also get a landing pad if you dont have one already, the belly sensors on this thing are fussier than youd expect on uneven grass.

i also came from a Mavic 2 Pro and had the same reaction to the noise lol. i think its just the prop design, ive seen some people try aftermarket props but i havent gone down that rabbit hole yet. the image quality really is the selling point though, my footage has looked noticeably better since switching, at least in good light. in low light its still good but i feel like the Mavic held its own there too so maybe not as big a jump as i expected in that specific area.
