so this has been driving me insane for the past two weeks. im flying a mavic 3 and somewhere around 400-500m out it just drops the video feed and sometimes the whole connection goes. controller reconnects after like 10-15 seconds but that's not really acceptable when youre over water or anything tricky.

ive been flying from the same field for like two years with no problems and suddenly this started happening. nothing changed on my end as far as i can tell. updated to the latest firmware maybe three weeks ago but i cant be 100% sure that's when it started.

CE vs FCC mode is set to FCC, antennas are oriented properly, phone is a pixel 6 running android 13. tried two different usb cables already. the weird thing is it doesnt always happen at the same distance, sometimes its fine at 800m and sometimes it cuts at 200. thats what makes me think interference but i really dont know. any ideas welcome at this point

the inconsistency you're describing where it cuts at different ranges each time is almost always interference rather than a hardware problem. consistent hardware issues tend to fail at the same distance every time. my first question would be what changed in your environment ? any new cell towers, wifi routers, new construction nearby? 2.4 and 5.8ghz congestion can absolutely tank ocusync even in FCC mode.

one thing worth trying is the spectrum analyzer in the dji app, it'll show you what channels are busy. also try switching between auto and a manually selected channel and see if the behavior changes. i had something similar on my air 2s last spring and it turned out a neighbor had installed some kind of mesh wifi system that was basically blasting the whole frequency range.

did you try a different phone? i know you mentioned cables but the phone itself can cause signal weirdness when it starts throttling the usb connection. also worth checking if anything changed with a nearby cell tower ? you can actually look that stuff up on antenna search websites if youre in the US. probably not the issue but worth 5 minutes
