yeah so i went in this morning and got a 67 which i guess is technically close but still a fail. been studying for like six weeks. i used one of those paid online courses, i wont name it but it was one of the popular ones, and i honestly thought i had it. the weather questions got me bad, like there was stuff in there i dont remember seeing in any of the prep material at all. also some airspace questions that were kind of worded in a way that felt almost deliberately confusing to me.

i have to wait 14 days before i can retake it i think? and i'm just trying to figure out what to actually focus on this time around. i feel like the course i used was maybe a little too surface level on some things

that sucks, sorry to hear it. the weather section genuinely is the hardest part for most people with no aviation background. METARs and TAFs and understanding winds aloft forecasts are their own whole thing. what helped me was just drilling practice questions specifically on weather until it clicked, not re-reading the material but actually doing the questions and looking up why i got each one wrong. the FAA has a free study guide PDF that goes pretty deep on the weather section if you haven't looked at that yet, its more detailed than most of the commercial courses.

also yeah the airspace wording in the questions is notoriously tricky. sometimes the answer feels wrong but technically isnt because of how the regulation is written. when you retake it just slow down on those and read every word carefully before picking. 67 is close, you're not starting from zero here.

i took it twice too so you're not alone. first time i got a 68 and thought something was wrong with the test lol. second time i focused almost entirely on the things i got wrong and passed with an 82. honestly the 14 day wait is annoying but its probably enough time if you're already at 67. you clearly know most of it.

one thing i'd add is the ASA or Sporty's test prep apps have slightly different question pools than some of the online courses and some of those questions feel closer to what actually shows up on the real thing, at least that was my experience. might be worth running through those even if you already did a paid course
