so ive been flying freestyle for maybe 8 months now and the split s was always kinda sketchy for me, like id come out of it with way too much wobble on the exit and sometimes the quad would just sort of twitch and i'd lose orientation for a second. finally getting it more consistent but something still feels wrong with the tune.

running a 5inch on betaflight 4.4, motors are t-motor f40 pro iv, and i lowered my d term a little last week which helped a tiny bit but the oscillations on fast direction changes are still there. not sure if its a filtering thing or i just need to dial in the rates more. anyone else had this kind of thing where the quad just doesnt feel locked in for that specific maneuver

yeah the split s wobble on exit is almost always a d term thing in my experience, but also check your master multiplier isnt cranked too high. ive seen people try to fix feel by just adding more and then wondering why theres propwash everywhere. what does your blackbox look like on those exits, that'll tell you way more than guessing

i had the same issue for months and honestly it was my rates the whole time, i had so much expo that i was overcorrecting on the pull out without even realizing it. took a buddy watching me fly in person to point it out lol. might not be a tune problem at all
