keeps drifting when i let go of the sticks?

so ive been flying for maybe a month now and something thats been bugging me is that when i release both sticks the drone kind of slowly moves in one direction instead of just staying put. its not a lot but its noticeable and it makes me nervous when im trying to do a slow shot near trees or whatever. is this normal or is something wrong with mine. i calibrated the compass before my first flight and i thought that was all you had to do

what drone is it? makes a difference. but generally speaking if it's drifting even in a hover it's usually one of a few things ? IMU calibration is off, there's some wind you're not accounting for, or the GPS lock wasn't fully solid when you took off. compass cal is one thing but IMU calibration is separate and a lot of beginners don't know about it. check your app, should be in the settings or advanced sensors somewhere. do it on a flat stable surface indoors. also worth checking if it only drifts in one direction consistently or if it changes, because if it's always the same direction that points more toward a calibration thing vs just wind

honestly a little bit of drift in hover is pretty normal depending on wind conditions, like even a 5mph breeze will move it around some. i used to think mine was broken and then i started paying attention to how the grass was moving and realized oh yeah its just wind. that said the IMU thing the other guy mentioned is worth checking, i did mine once and it did help. just dont do it on a washing machine while its running lol i read someone did that
