mini 3 pro keeps drifting even with gps locked??

  • Members

so ive had my mini 3 pro for about 4 months now and it mostly flies great but lately ive noticed it just... drifts. like ill let go of the sticks completely and it kind of floats sideways a little. its not a huge amount but its noticeable especially when im trying to get a still shot hovering over something. gps says its locked, showing like 14 satellites, wind is pretty calm. im not sure if this is a calibration thing or what. havent crashed it or anything. did a firmware update maybe 3 weeks ago and not 100% sure if it started after that or was already happening. anyone else had this

yeah this drove me nuts with mine too for a while. first thing id try is an IMU calibration, do it on a flat surface inside away from anything magnetic. also compass calibration if you havent done one recently or if youve been flying in a different area than usual. the drift thing is usually one of those two. if its still doing it after that id check if theres any prop damage, even a tiny nick can mess with the hover stability more than you'd think.

could also just be normal for the mini 3 honestly, they're not as locked in as something bigger. mine does a tiny bit of drift and DJI support basically told me its within spec. annoying answer but there it is. that said the IMU cal thing the other person mentioned is worth doing first, doesnt take long
