was thinking about this while editing some clips the other night. like for me photography was already a thing before i got into drones so it kind of blended naturally. but i know a guy at my local field who got into fpv through RC cars which i never would have connected. just curious if theres a pattern or if everyone comes from completely different places. also partially asking because i have way too much time this week and need something to read

hiking for me. i started flying mostly to document trails and remote spots i was already visiting anyway. the two things just made sense together. now half my backpack is drone gear and my hiking buddies think im insane for carrying all the extra weight but the shots make it worth it

i came from scale RC trucks actually, so building and wrenching on stuff was already normal to me. switching to quads wasnt that big a leap mentally even though the electronics side is way more involved. the part i was NOT prepared for was the video editing rabbit hole. still kind of hate that part tbh but you kind of have to learn it or whats the point
