so ive got a trip to lisbon and the algarve coming up and obviously bringing the mini 4 pro. done a bit of research but honestly the rules in europe are confusing me. i have my A1/A3 cert from the uk but no idea if that carries over now post brexit or if i need to register separately in portugal. anyone actually done this recently?

also wondering about the coastal spots around lagos and albufeira, heard some of them might be restricted near the cliffs because of nesting birds or something? dont want to just show up and get in trouble

yeah the brexit thing is a pain, basically your UK cert doesnt automatically transfer anymore. you technically need to register with ANAC which is the portuguese CAA. its not that bad though, i did it before my trip last spring and it was pretty straightforward online. took maybe a week to get the confirmation back.

the algarve coastline is gorgeous to fly but yeah some spots near ponta da piedade are touchy. i just kept it low key, flew early morning when nobody was around and had no issues. the main thing is avoiding the busy beach zones in peak hours, there were signs at a couple spots.

went to lisbon in october and flew around a bit. belem area was fine, just stay away from the obvious tourist crowds and dont hover over people. i didnt bother with any registration and nothing happened but i probably got lucky, wouldnt recommend that approach tbh
