so ive been flying for about 3 years now, got my part 107 last year, and im starting to wonder if i can actually make this a real income thing. right now i do real estate shoots on weekends mostly and pick up the occasional construction progress job when someone reaches out through a friend of a friend. its decent side money but nothing that would replace my actual job.
the thing is i genuinely love doing this more than my desk job and im trying to figure out if anyone has actually made the leap to doing drone work full time. not just like "yeah i make some money" but actually paying rent and bills and not panicking every month. i know real estate is pretty saturated in my area (outside of Denver) and im wondering if i need to specialize in something like inspections or maybe get into the mapping/survey side of things. anyone done this or know people who have? would love to hear what actually worked vs what people thought would work
