first group flight i ever went to was kind of a disaster tbh

so anyway this was maybe two years ago, local club organized a group fly at the lake and i was pretty new still, had my phantom 4 and felt pretty confident. get there and theres like 20 people all flying at the same time and nobody really coordinating anything. two birds almost collided within like the first 20 minutes and then someone lost signal and their drone went into the water. the guy was devastated. after that everyone kind of calmed down and started taking turns calling out their flight direction before taking off. it actually turned into a decent morning after the rough start. just wasnt expecting it to be so chaotic, i thought these things would be more organized i guess. anyone else have a wild first meetup experience

oh man yeah the first one i went to was the same vibe, nobody in charge really, everyone just doing their own thing. its gotten better at our club since they started doing a quick safety brief at the start but it took a few near misses to get there. the water incident is the worst though, seen that happen once and it kills the mood for everyone
