group flights are kind of a mess tbh

ok so went to a meetup last weekend, maybe 15 or so people showed up which was cool but honestly flying with that many drones in the air at once was kind of stressful. kept getting paranoid about someone elses quad getting close to mine and i wasnt even sure who was flying what half the time. i get that its fun to get together but i feel like there needs to be some kind of coordination or at least someone calling out when theyre launching. maybe im overthinking it idk

nah youre not overthinking it, frequency management is a real thing even with 2.4ghz systems, and just visually keeping track of whos flying what can get confusing fast. the better organized clubs usually have a flight director or at least someone whos loosely managing the flightline. sounds like this one was just a casual hangout though so probably nobody thought about it ahead of time

yeah i had the same feeling at my first group thing, it felt chaotic. but after going to a few more i kinda just got used to it and learned to just stay aware of my own airspace and not worry too much about everyone else. still stressful when someone decides to just rip a freestyle line with no warning tho
