finally picked up an Air 3 ? few things im confused about

so i've had the Air 3 for about three weeks now and honestly love it but there's a few things driving me a bit crazy. first off the obstacle avoidance ? i have it set to bypass mode but sometimes it just stops dead anyway, especially near trees. is that normal or am i missing a setting somewhere? i feel like ive read conflicting stuff online about this.

also the RC 2 controller, does anyone else find the screen really hard to see in bright sunlight? like i'm in florida so it's basically always blinding outside and i'm squinting at the thing constantly. not sure if there's a screen protector that actually helps or if people just deal with it

last thing and then i'll stop rambling ? whats a good ND filter set for this thing for beach shooting? i've been shooting without any filters and the footage looks okay but i feel like i should be using them. any brands people actually like that arent crazy expensive

the obstacle avoidance stopping thing is totally normal, bypass mode still has limits especially in dense environments ? it'll still brake if it thinks a collision is genuinely unavoidable. you can try switching to APAS 5.0 advanced settings but honestly near trees it's just being cautious and i'd rather it stop than plow into a branch. you can also just turn avoidance off entirely if you're comfortable flying manually but i wouldnt recommend that until you really know what you're doing

for ND filters i've been using the Freewell set and they've been solid, not the cheapest but not ridiculous either. for beach shooting on a sunny day you're probably looking at ND16 or ND64 most of the time depending on time of day. worth getting a variety pack rather than buying individual ones at first

the RC 2 screen in sunlight is a known gripe, a lot of people complain about it. i got a hood for mine, one of those collapsible ones that goes over the screen, it helps a lot more than any screen protector would tbh. just search for RC 2 sun hood and youll find a bunch of options, most are like 10-15 bucks. bit awkward to carry around but when youre trying to actually see what you're shooting its worth it
