group flights are kind of underrated imo

went to my first real drone meetup last month, was just a casual thing at a soccer field someone organized through discord, maybe 12 people showed up. honestly had more fun than i expected. learned more in like 3 hours just watching other people fly and asking dumb questions than i did in months of youtube videos. one guy had an analog whoov setup i got to try and now i kind of want to build one which is probably a terrible idea for my wallet

anyway if you've been on the fence about going to one of these things just go, worst case you stand around awkwardly for a bit but that hasnt happend to me yet

totally agree. i was nervous the first time too but drone people are generally pretty chill. nobody cares if your gear isnt fancy or whatever. the guys with the expensive setups are usually the most happy to talk about it

the analog whoov rabbit hole is real, fair warning. started with one "just to try" and now i have four of them in various states of being broken. great community though, meetups are way better than flying alone honestly, you pick up so much just from being around other pilots
