saw a post on facebook about a fly-in happening at Lakeside park on the 14th, organized by the local AMA club i think. i've never been to one of these things before and honestly not sure what to expect. do people just show up and fly or is there like a schedule and judges and stuff? i've only had my mini 3 for about 4 months so im definitely not competing or anything lol just want to see what other peoples builds look like and maybe talk to some people who actually know what theyre doing

fly-ins are super chill usually, at least the AMA ones ive been to. no pressure to compete or anything, most people just set up a chair and fly whenever they feel like it. you'll see everything from tiny whoops to massive 7 inch freestyle rigs to expensive cinematography setups. honestly the best part is just walking around and talking to people, everyone is pretty friendly and happy to show off their gear. bring extra batteries obviously and maybe a small toolkit just in case something needs adjusting. also check if they have a flight line setup because some clubs are strict about that kind of thing

i went to one last summer and it was honestly a bit overwhelming at first because there were way more people than i expected. but yeah just go, worst case you hang out for an hour and leave. i ended up staying like 5 hours and got some tips on my tune from a guy who builds racers. def bring snacks though the ones i went to had zero food options nearby
