yeah this has been bugging me for a while. we started doing monthly group flights at the field about two years ago and at first we'd get like 20 people showing up which was awesome. now its like 6 or 7 regulars and the same faces every time. not complaining about the people who do show up but trying to figure out if anyone else has dealt with this and what you did about it. we tried posting on facebook more but that didnt really seem to help. wondering if we should try doing themed events or something idk

themed events actually worked pretty well for a club i used to fly with. they did like a slow race day where the winner was whoever came in last without crashing, sounds dumb but people loved it and it brought in a few beginners who were intimidated by the normal stuff. also reddit and instagram probably better than facebook at this point for reaching new people

honestly winter killed our attendance and it never fully recovered. some people just drifted away. we started doing like a beginner hour at the start of each meetup where experienced pilots help newcomers and that brough some fresh faces in. takes a while tho dont expect overnight results
