been like two weeks since i got a decent fly in. wind has been nuts here in the midwest, gusting to like 30+ every single day and my usual spots are all wide open fields so theres basically no shelter anywhere. just been sitting here watching my mavic collect dust on the shelf and refreshing weather apps like a crazy person.

anyway not really a question just wanted to complain somewhere people would understand. my wife does not get why i care so much about wind speed

dude same. i actually drove out to my spot last thursday thinking the forecast was off and it would calm down in the afternoon. it did not calm down. turned around after like 10 minutes of watching the trees bend sideways. at least i didnt lose the bird i guess

I started flying in my backyard just to scratch the itch. Learned more about low altitude maneuvering in the last two weeks of bad weather than I probably have all year honestly. Not ideal but keeps the rust off. Also yes my wife has the exact same reaction, total blank stare whenever I mention wind direction at dinner.
