thinking about stepping up from my Mini 3 to the EVO II Pro ? is it worth the jump

been flying DJI for about three years, got pretty comfortable with the Mini 3 Pro and honestly love it but ive been doing more real estate and some landscape stuff where i really want that larger sensor. the EVO II Pro with the 1 inch sensor keeps coming up when i do research and the price has come down a decent amount lately so im actually considering it.

main things i care about are image quality obviously, how reliable the obstacle avoidance is since ill be flying in tighter spots sometimes, and just general build quality. i know switching ecosystems is kind of a thing and autel has a different vibe than DJI in terms of community and software support. anyone made a similar switch or fly both? curious what the actual day to day experience is like, not just the spec sheet stuff

i made almost exactly this switch about a year ago and have some thoughts. the image quality out of the EVO II Pro is genuinely excellent, the 1 inch sensor earns its keep especially in low light and the color science is really nice if you shoot in raw. that part i have zero complaints about.

the obstacle avoidance though... its fine but i wouldn't trust it the way you might be used to trusting the Mini 3's system. its not bad its just not as polished or as responsive feeling. i still use it but i fly a bit more conservatively with it enabled than i would on the DJI. the Autel software has also gotten better over the last year but its still not as smooth as DJI's ecosystem, some firmware updates have been slow to arrive. none of it was a dealbreaker for me personally but just stuff to go in with eyes open about.

dont have the EVO II but I do shoot real estate with a Lite+ and have demoed the EVO II Pro at a local club meetup. the footage does look really good, the guy who owned it was super happy with it for that use case. my only hesitation would be the size and weight difference vs the Mini 3, its a noticeably bigger drone to haul around and set up. if portability matters to you at all thats worth factoring in. for studio style real estate shoots where you're setting up deliberately it probably dosnt matter much though
