DJI pushed another firmware update and now my RTH altitude is acting weird

  • Members

updated to the latest firmware yesterday, cant remember the exact version number but it was the one that dropped like 4 days ago for the mini 4 pro. ever since the update my return to home altitude keeps defaulting back to 30 meters every time i power cycle even though i have it set to 60 in the fly app. pretty sure this wasnt happening before.

ive tried clearing the app cache, reinstalling fly, disconnecting and reconnecting the RC2, nothing works. the setting saves fine during the session and the drone respects it while its powered on but next boot its back to 30. its not the end of the world but its kind of terrifying when you're flying in an area with trees and you just assume its going to RTH at the height you set it to.

anyone else seeing this or is it just me doing something dumb

yeah saw a couple people mention this on reddit too so you're not imagining it. pretty sure its a known bug with this build, theres a thread on the DJI forums where someone from support acknowledged it but no ETA on a fix. annoying as hell for exactly the reason you said ? RTH altitude is not something you want to be guessing at.

workaround ive seen suggested is to set it through the safety menu rather than the quick settings, apparently the two dont always sync properly after this update. havent verified it myself but worth a shot

this is why i wait like 2 weeks before updating firmware on anything im actively using for paid work. DJI has gotten better about this stuff but they still push updates that feel half tested sometimes. hope they patch it fast for you, that particular setting is way too safety critical to be glitchy
