how often are you guys actually doing full teardowns for maintenance ? feels like i never do it enough

been flying for about three years now and i mostly just fix things when they break. like i'll swap a motor or reflow a bad solder joint when something goes wrong but i dont think ive ever just sat down and done a proper inspection of a quad that wasnt already having a problem. wondering if thats how most people operate or if there's people out there who are actually proactive about this stuff.

my main concern is the frame bolts honestly, i know they loosen up over time and i should probably be checking them more regularly but i always forget until something rattles. also curious how people handle the ESC and FC connections ? do you ever just resolder joints preemptively or only when you see a problem?

not asking because anything is wrong right now, just kind of taking stock of how i treat my gear. i have maybe 8 quads in various states of airworthy and i realistically fly 3 of them regularly so keeping on top of all of them feels like a lot.

honestly i do a quick once-over after every session, just eyeballing prop condition, checking the motor bells for play, making sure nothing feels loose. takes maybe five minutes. but a real teardown? probably every 30-40 packs on a bird i fly hard, or sooner if i've had any crashes. i resolder anything that looks iffy even if its not failed yet because a mid-flight ESC disconnect is way more annoying than spending 20 minutes on the bench.

im probably the wrong person to ask because i am absolutely terrible about this lol. i fly until something breaks then fix that one thing and repeat. probably why i go through more gear than i should. the frame bolt thing is real though, i had a top plate basically walk itself off once mid flight because i never retorqued after a hard landing and that was a fun afternoon. use threadlocker now on anything structural, blue not red obviously, and that helped a lot with stuff backing out on its own.
