so anyway ive been dealing with this for a few weeks and its driving me insane. got a prebuilt 5inch, wont say which one because honestly it doesnt matter i think its a general issue, and whenever i do a hard yaw input at speed the thing just kind of spirals weird like it overshoots and then tries to correct itself. its not crashing but it feels horrible and i cant throw it into anything tight without it going wobbly.

motors are fine, props are balanced, did a full prop replacement last week and its still doing it. im thinking its probably the yaw authority in the tune being off but ive never really gone deep on tuning prebuilts before ? always built my own stuff and just started from a known good tune. betaflight blackbox shows something but honestly i dont fully know how to read what im seeing.

running 4s, standard f7 stack from whatever they threw in it from the factory. any ideas before i just wipe the tune and start fresh

that sounds like classic yaw P being too high for the motor/prop combo they shipped it with. prebuilts are notorious for this because they often tune on test motors and then ship you whatever they have in stock that week. pull up the blackbox trace on your yaw axis and if you see it overshooting and ringing after the input that's your answer. i usually drop yaw P down like 15-20% from whatever the factory default is and see if it cleans up. might also want to check your gyro filtering isnt too aggressive because that can cause similar behavior with delayed response

also worth checking if your motors are all at the same temp after a flight, one motor running hotter than the others can do weird things to yaw response especially at speed. had simlar issue last year and spent ages in betaflight before i noticed one of the motors had a slightly bent shaft from a crash i thought was minor. just a thing to rule out
