Air 2S keeps losing signal near the river ? is this normal or is something wrong with my unit

so this has been bugging me for a while and i finally decided to post about it. basically whenever i fly near this one river valley i get signal warnings and the feed gets choppy, sometimes drops for a second or two. happens pretty consistently around the same area. its not super far out, maybe 400 meters, line of sight is mostly clear but there are some trees on one bank.

ive tried recalibrating the compass and that didn't seem to do anything. the weird thing is i flew the exact same route last summer and dont remember it being this bad. RC-N1 controller if that matters. could it be interference from something nearby? there's a substation not too far away actually, never thought about that until just now

yeah the substation could absolutely be a factor, those things throw out a lot of RF noise. also river valleys can be tricky because the terrain channels interference in weird ways and the humidity near water can sometimes affect signal too depending on conditions. worth trying to fly on a different day at a different time and see if its consistent. also check if your phone or anything in your pockets is running bluetooth or wifi ? i had a similar thing and it turned out my phone was hammering a hotspot in the background and mucking with the 2.4ghz band

could also just be that more people have set up wireless stuff in that area since last summer, like new routers or something on the same channels. i noticed my signal got worse over the winter in a spot i fly regulary and i'm pretty sure one of the houses nearby got a mesh wifi system. not much you can do about that honestly except switch to 5.8ghz in the settings if youre not already on it, though range takes a hit
