so ive been studying for like 3 weeks now and honestly feel like im going in circles. been using the FAA study guide and some youtube videos but the airspace stuff is really tripping me up. like i get class B and C kinda but then they throw in like TFRs and MOAs and i just lose track of what requires what kind of authorization.

also not sure how much of the weather section i really need to know vs just skimming it. does the actual test go deep on METARs or is it more surface level stuff. i dont want to overprepare on something thats only gonna be like 2 questions you know.

test is at a PSI testing center if that matters. any last minute advice or stuff you wish you knew going in would be appreciated

the airspace stuff clicked for me when i stopped trying to memorize and started just pulling up sectional charts on skyvector and like actually finding the different airspace rings and reading what they mean in context. way better than staring at a diagram in a PDF.

METARs are def on there, at least a few questions, so dont skip that. you dont need to decode every single element perfectly but knowing the basics like ceiling, visibility, wind direction and the common abbreviations is probably enough. the harder questions for me were actually the loading and performance ones, like weight and balance stuff. i totally underestimated that section.

also the Gleim test prep app is pretty solid for practice questions, closer to actual test difficulty than a lot of the free stuff out there. good luck, its not as bad as people make it sound

i took it like two months ago and honestly the airspace questions werent as bad as i expected? the ones that got me were more about like crew responsibilities and some of the radio communication stuff which i kind of glossed over while studying. passed with like an 85 so not perfect but whatever it works lol

just make sure you know the visibility and cloud clearance requirements cold, those seem to come up a lot
