so ive been running dominator v3s for like 4 years now and finally caved and picked up a walksnail avatar HD kit with the goggles X. first couple flights were honestly kind of rough just because my brain was expecting that analog snappiness and the HD feed just felt... different? not worse necessarily, just different.

latency is supposedly around 22ms on the high quality mode which on paper seems fine but coming from analog where its basically zero perceptible lag its an adjustment. i fly mostly tight woods and some light gates in the backyard. starting to wonder if i should drop it to the lower quality mode just to crank down that latency or if im just going to adapt eventually. anyone made a similar switch and had to retrain themselves a bit?

yeah went through almost the exact same thing last year, came from orqa fp01s which were already on the analog side and the first few packs on avatar felt like flying through molasses even though the numbers say its fine. took me probably 2-3 weeks of regular flying before my brain stopped fighting it. i dont think its actually the latency that gets you, its more that HD changes how you read the image ? analog has that kind of... gritty urgency to it that makes things feel faster even when theyre not. i kept the high quality mode on and just flew more. you'll adapt.

i switched mine to the low latency mode immediately and honestly cant tell the difference in video quality unless im doing a direct side by side comparison. for woods flying id just run that mode and not think about it. the extra few ms of sharpness isnt worth it when a branch is coming at your face
