so ive been studying for about 3 weeks now and honestly im feeling pretty overwhelmed. i bought the Tony Northrup course on udemy and went through most of it but the airspace stuff is killing me. like i get the basic class B C D stuff but when you get into the sectional charts and all the numbers and lines i just zone out.

anyone have a good way to memorize the airspace floors and ceilings or is it more about understanding the logic behind it? also how much of the actual test is weather vs airspace? i feel like ive been spending way too much time on stuff that might not even show up. the test is at a PSI testing center and i scheduled it for like 6 weeks out so i have time but still kinda nervous.

the airspace thing clicked for me when i stopped trying to memorize it and just started pulling up random sectionals on skyvector and quizzing myself. like actually find a class C airport near you and just trace the rings and look up what the floors are. doing it with real charts instead of diagrams in a book made a huge difference.

weather is definitely on the test, more than i expected honestly. i'd say maybe 20-25% of what i saw was weather related -- things like reading METARs and TAFs, knowing what different cloud types mean for visibility, that kind of stuff. dont skip it. the Dave's Drone Course on youtube is free and his weather section is really solid if the udemy one isn't clicking for you.

i just passed like two weeks ago so still pretty fresh. honestly the test wasnt as bad as i thought it would be but the sectional questions were tricky, not impossible just tricky. they give you a legend so dont panic about memorizing every single symbol. the ones that got me were the ones where you have to figure out if you need authorization in a certain area and you have to actually read the chart carefully instead of just recognizing shapes.

also bring scratch paper or ask for some at the testing center, i used it a lot for the math problems even though there werent that many.
