EVO II Pro keeps losing signal way sooner than it should ? anyone else had this

  • Members

this has been bugging me for a while and im finally just gonna ask. my EVO II Pro drops to like a weak signal warning around 800 meters or so sometimes even less and i know that thing is supposed to go way further than that. its not like im flying in a super congested area either, im usually out in pretty open spots. updated firmware a few weeks ago and it didnt really change anything. the video feed gets choppy and then i usually just bring it back because i dont want to push it.

controller antennas look fine to me, nothing obviously bent or broken. not sure if its a settings thing or something hardware related or maybe interference i cant see. kind of at a loss here.

had something similar happen after a firmware update a while back, turned out my controller was defaulting to a lower transmission power setting after the update which is apparently a thing that can happen depending on your region settings. worth digging into the controller settings and double checking what the transmission mode is set to, some regions cap it. also worth trying a full controller recalibration if you havent done that recently, helped me more than i expected.

could also just be interference you cant easily detect. 2.4ghz is brutal in some areas even ones that seem open, farming equipment, cellular towers, even power lines can mess with it more than people realize. i actually had a spot that looked completely clear and was getting garbage signal until i moved like 200 meters and it was suddenly fine. not saying thats definitely your issue but id try a few different launch spots before assuming something is wrong with the hardware itself. also what version firmware are you on exactly
