Planning some cell tower inspections and trying to nail down safe operating distances for different RF scenarios. Getting conflicting info - some say 26 feet average from antennas is when issues start, others report problems at much greater distances.
Main question: For towers with unknown transmission power/frequencies, what's a practical rule of thumb for minimum standoff distance? I've got a Z30 for zoom capability, but wondering if that's sufficient for detailed antenna inspections or if I need to risk getting closer.
Considering investing in an RF Explorer spectrum analyzer to check interference levels on-site before flights. Worth the $400 investment for regular tower work?
