so this is maybe a dumb question but ive gone through three arms on my Hyperlite Flowride in the past two months. not like catastrophic crashes, just normal freestyle stuff, maybe one or two real slams but nothing that should be destroying the frame this fast i think. the arms are the 4mm ones that come with it.

a buddy of mine runs a TBS Source One and swears he barely breaks anything. i always thought hyperlite was supposed to be the tough one but maybe i was wrong. or maybe im hitting at weird angles. the cracks are always right near the motor mount which makes me think its stress concentrating there but i dont really know if thats how carbon works.

should i just order a bunch of spare arms and accept this or is there something im doing setup-wise that makes it worse. running 2306 2450kv motors on 6S if that matters

cracking near the motor mount is pretty classic, the motor screws create a stress riser right there and when you get a hit the crack propagates from one of those holes. 4mm arms on a freestyle build take a beating, some people go up to 5mm arms if the frame supports it but i don't think the Flowride has that option.

the Source One arms are a different geometry and a lot of people say the arm angle absorbs impacts differently - not necessarily stronger material just different how the force travels. could also just be luck of the landing angle honestly.

what i'd say is just buy like 6 spare arms at a time, hyperlite sells them cheap enough that its not worth losing sleep over. also double check your motor screws arent overtightened, i cracked an arm once that way.

6S on a flowride is probably contributing tbh. more speed means harder impacts even if the crash looks the same. i snapped arms way faster when i moved from 4S to 6S, took me a while to connect those dots. you kinda adjust your flying style eventually but in the meantime yeah the arms are gonna suffer more.
