mini 4 pro keeps losing signal randomly even close range??

  • Members

so ive had my mini 4 pro for about 4 months now and it keeps doing this thing where the signal just drops for like 2-3 seconds and then comes back. it happened twice yesterday and once it actually switched to ATTI mode which scared the hell out of me. im not flying anything crazy, usually just at a local park maybe 200-300 meters out max. im on the RC2 controller if that matters.

i dont think its interference because ive tried different times of day and different spots. updated firmware last week but still happening. anyone else seen this or know what im doing for wrong

the RC2 has that known thing where if youre holding it at a weird angle the antennas dont get good signal. the antennas are in the top corners of the controller and a lot of people hold it with their thumbs covering that area without realizing. try holding it so the top faces the drone more directly and see if that changes anything. sounds dumb but fixed it for like three people i know

Could also be worth checking if there's any metal structures nearby, even like a fence or a car you're standing next to. I had something similar last summer and spent ages thinking it was firmware but turned out I kept flying near a cell tower on one side of the park. Also are you using the DJI fly app or did you mess with any third party stuff at any point? Some of those can do weird things to the connection handshake or whatever its called. Not saying thats defintely it just ruling things out.
