okay so this happened yesterday and i'm still a little shaky thinking about it. i was flying my Mavic Air 2 out over this reservoir near my house, probably 400 meters out and maybe 80 feet up, totally legal area no restrictions. everything was fine and then out of nowhere the video feed went gray and i got the signal lost warning. it lasted maybe four or five seconds but it felt like an hour.
the drone did exactly what it was supposed to do, it just held position and waited for signal to come back, which it did, and i flew it home no problem. but man. i think there was some kind of interference because there were a couple of fishermen with what looked like equipment nearby, not sure if that could have caused it or if it was just the terrain bouncing the signal weird. the reservoir has these weird little hills around one edge.
i have the return to home set at 120 feet so at least i know it wouldve come back eventually but yeah. flying over water is a different kind of stress. anyone else had random signal drops like this in open areas? im not sure if i should look at a range extender or just accept that it happens sometimes
