so ive been trying to get this split s dialed for like 3 weeks now and today it just clicked. been flying a 5inch on betaflight with filters pretty much stock except i bumped my d term up a little because the prop wash coming out of the dive was killing me. anyway if anyones struggling with split s just commit to the roll faster than you think you need to, i was being way too slow and thats why i kept losing altitude weird coming out the bottom. also my rates were probably too high for learning it, dropped everything down to like 650 dps and it made a huge difference for muscle memory

yeah the slow roll thing gets everyone at first. i spent forever thinking i needed more throttle at the bottom but honestly its almost all about the timing of the flip. what motors you running? my 2306s were super twitchy for learning stuff like that and i ended up going back to my old 2205 build just to practice

nice one. split s was my first real trick too. dont even worry about split s though once you get it, learn the juicy flow stuff after like the matty flip its way more satisfying to throw into a line
