mini 4 pro vs air 3 ? genuinely can't decide and leaving for a trip in 3 weeks

ok so ive been going back and forth on this for like two months now and i need to just pull the trigger. the trip is to iceland so obviously wind is going to be a factor and i keep reading conflicting stuff about how the air 3 handles it vs the mini 4 pro.

my main thing is i mostly shoot for myself, maybe some social media stuff but nothing professional. i do like the idea of the omnidirectional obstacle avoidance on the air 3 but then the mini 4 pro also has it now which kind of threw me off because i thought that was a differentiator. the weight thing matters to me because im flying in the EU and the sub 250g thing is still nice to have even though iceland isnt in the eu... i think? anyway.

the price gap isnt huge enough to really swing me either way honestly. what would you actually pick if you were starting fresh right now

i went through this exact same thing last year and ended up with the air 3 and genuinely have no regrets. the dual camera setup is the thing that sold me in the end ? having the 3x tele option is something i use way more than i expected, especially for landscape stuff where you want to compress distance. the mini 4 pro footage is great dont get me wrong but once you shoot with that tele lens and see what it does to mountains or coastlines it's hard to go back.

wind resistance on the air 3 is noticeably better in my experience, i was out in some pretty gnarly gusts last autumn and it held its position really well. the mini 4 pro will struggle a bit more in sustained high wind just because of the weight, physics is physics. for iceland specifically id lean air 3 just for that reason alone.

the sub 250g thing honestly matters less than people think unless you're flying commercially in europe constantly. for a personal trip it's probably not worth compromising on the hardware for it

i have the mini 4 pro and love it but if i'm being honest the air 3 is probably the better drone, i just couldn't justify the price at the time lol. for iceland though yeah wind is real there, my friend went and said it was pretty intense some days. probably go air 3 if budget allows
