Air 2S acting up after latest firmware update - signal dropping at 700m

  • Members

Hey everyone, my Air 2S has been giving me trouble since the latest firmware update. After the update, when I used the Iphone 11 and the Dji Fly app to fly, every 700M distance the RC signal automatically disappeared and it returns to home. This is really frustrating because it used to fly much further without any issues.

I've tried different locations to make sure it's not interference, and the authorized repair center said everything looks normal hardware-wise. Has anyone else experienced this weird 700m cutoff issue? It's making me nervous to fly over water or in mountain areas.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

That's really odd - I haven't experienced that specific 700m cutoff issue with my Air 2S. Have you tried switching between different transmission modes in the app settings? Sometimes toggling between 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz can help with range issues.

I had similar problems after updating! Dji does not allow firmware downgrades unfortunately. Try doing a full refresh using DJI Assistant 2 on your computer - sometimes that clears up weird post-update bugs better than just updating through the app.

This sounds like it could be related to outdated firmware conflicts or app cache issues. Before doing anything drastic, try clearing the DJI Fly app cache and data, then reconnect everything from scratch. Also check if your phone has any power saving modes that might be interfering with the connection.
