Just got my first drone (Air 2S) and I'm overwhelmed by all the camera settings! I want to shoot good quality video for travel content but don't know where to start. Should I be shooting in manual or auto mode?

On the Air 2S you'll find the option to shoot H265 D-LogM files with 10bit color but I have no idea what that means or if I should use it. I've been shooting in regular 4K but the footage looks flat compared to what I see on YouTube.

Any tips for a complete beginner? Thanks!

Welcome to drone flying! For starting out, I'd recommend staying in auto mode until you get comfortable. You should stick to manual over auto exposure for a cleaner, more professional capture eventually, but auto is fine while learning. Try the different color profiles first - Normal should give you punchier colors than D-Log.

D-Log is for color grading in post-production - if you're not editing extensively, stick with Normal profile for now. Stick with a shutter speed that is following the 180-degree shutter rule. Or 1 / 2 x (frame rate) - so if shooting 24fps, use 1/48 shutter speed for natural motion blur.

Start simple! Generally 6,000k during high sun and about 8,000k during sunrise and sunset will give nice result for white balance. Focus on composition and smooth movements first, then worry about advanced settings later. The Air 2S produces great footage even in auto mode when you're starting out.
