ok so this is embarassing but i was flying out near some fields yesterday and got so focused on the shot i completely forgot to check my battery. RTH kicked in and i panicked thinking something was wrong and i switched it off and tried to fly it back manually and just. yeah. it landed in someones cornfield and i had to walk like half a mile to find it. it was fine but i felt like a complete idiot. the farmer was cool about it thankfully but still

lmao not judging at all i once flew my mavic into a tree branch at about 2mph. full hover, clear skies, no wind. just drifted sideways maybe 6 inches and clipped a branch and down it went. snapped a prop and scraped the gimbal cover. total pilot error, no excuse

the RTH panic switch-off thing is such a common mistake and nobody talks about it enough. you gotta just let it do its thing, the automation is almost always smarter than your panicked hands in that moment. glad you got it back though, cornfields are actually not the worst place to land all things considered
