finally picked up an EVO Nano+ and honestly pretty impressed so far

so ive been flying a Mini 2 for about a year and half and decided to try something different when i saw the Nano+ on sale last month. wasnt sure about switching from the DJI ecosystem but figured id give it a shot since the price was right and i wanted something with a bigger sensor.

first impressions are really good honestly. the RYYB sensor does seem to pull in more light in low conditions than i expected from something this small. took it out at golden hour yesterday and the footage looked way better than i thought it would straight out of camera. colors were a little warm but nothing crazy.

one thing thats bugging me though is the range feels noticeably shorter than my mini 2 did. like i know the specs say 10km but in practice im losing a clean signal way before that, especially near my neighborhood which has a lot of wifi interference. anyone else run into this or did i just get unlucky with my unit? also curious if anyone has found a good ND filter set that actually fits properly, ive seen a few on amazon but reviews are kind of all over the place

yeah the range thing is pretty common with the Nano series, its not just you. the smaller antennas in the controller are kind of the tradeoff for keeping everything so compact. i fly mine mostly in open fields and get decent range but in suburban areas with a ton of 2.4ghz congestion its noticeably spottier. switching it to 5.8ghz in the app helped me a bit but then you lose some penetration through obstacles so its kind of a pick your poison situation.

for ND filters the Freewell set for the Nano+ has been solid for me, been using them for a few months and they fit snug without any wobble. there are some cheaper sets but ive had mixed results with those, one of them caused this weird vignetting at the edges that drove me nuts until i figured out what it was
