EVO II Pro vs EVO II v3 ? worth the price difference for just recreational flying?

  • Members

okay so ive been going back and forth on this for like two weeks now and i cant decide. currently flying a Mini 3 Pro but i want to upgrade to something with a bigger sensor and the Autel stuff keeps coming up. the EVO II Pro with the 6k camera looks really appealing but then theres the v3 which supposedly has better dynamic range and some autofocus improvements?

honestly i mostly shoot landscape and the occasional family trip, i dont do any paid work or anything serious. my budget is stretching to maybe cover the Pro but the v3 is pushing it. anyone actually own either of these and can tell me if the real world difference is noticeable or is it more of a specs sheet thing. also not sure how i feel about Autel's app situation, heard mixed things

had the EVO II Pro for about a year and a half before i picked up the v3 last spring. honestly for recreational landscape shooting the Pro is still a fantastic drone, the 1 inch sensor does great work

had the EVO II Pro for about a year and a half before i picked up the v3 last spring. honestly for recreational landscape shooting the Pro is still a fantastic drone, the 1 inch sensor does great work in decent light and the footage holds up really well. the v3 improvements are real but they're kind of incremental ? better low light, the autofocus is faster and more reliable, and the obstacle avoidance got noticeably smarter. if you're not shooting golden hour in tricky lighting all the time you might not miss what the v3 adds.

the Autel app thing ? yeah it has some quirks but its been pretty stable for me since they pushed some updates last year. not as polished as DJI's ecosystem but it gets the job done and i actually like that theres no geofencing nonsense everywhere. if your budget is tight i'd genuinely say grab a used EVO II Pro and put the savings toward extra batteries because you'll want them
