been running an Iflight Nazgul5 v2 for about a year and its been pretty decent, survived some nasty crashes, motors are still spinning fine. looking at picking up a second quad and was eyeing the Geprc Mark5 HD. a friend keeps telling me Geprc quality control is better but I honestly cant tell if thats just brand loyalty talking or if theres something to it.

the main thing im trying to figure out is the frame durability and also whether the prebuilt tuning on the Geprc is closer to actually flyable out of the box. my Nazgul needed a fair bit of filter work before it stopped feeling mushy in the rolls, not a huge deal but it was kind of annoying. anyone whos actually flown both have thoughts? also open to other suggestions in that price range, around the $350-400 built mark.

had both. the Mark5 frame is genuinely stiffer, you can feel it, less flex in the arms during high throttle punch outs. the prebuilt tune on the Geprc was closer to usable for me but i still ended up reflashing and doing my own PIDs after a week anyway so maybe that doesnt matter much. iflight support has been better in my experience when stuff goes wrong though, Geprc support is kind of slow to respond.

if youre already comfortable in betaflight and youre just going to retune it regardless, honestly pick whichever one has the motor/stack combo you prefer. the Nazgul V3 also got a frame revision that fixed some of the flex issues from the V2 if you havent looked at that.

slight tangent but have you looked at the BetaFPV Aquila or the Flywoo stuff at all, some of those are really competitive at that price point now. not saying Geprc is bad just that the market has gotten way more crowded and some of the smaller brands are putting out surprisingly good stuff lately. the Flywoo Explorer LR4 isnt freestyle obviously but point being dont sleep on alternatives
