firmware update bricked my rc2 controller or at least thats what it feels like

okay so this is frustrating. did the firmware update last night on my rc2 through the dji fly app, it downloaded fine, installed, said it was complete, and now the controller just sits at the dji logo on boot like 90% of the time. occasionally it gets past it and loads the app but then the screen goes unresponsive after maybe 2 minutes. tried hard resetting it twice already.

not sure if this is a known issue with the latest update or if i just got unlucky. flying this weekend for a paid job so im kind of stressed about it. anyone dealt with this or know if dji support actually helps in a reasonable timeframe because ive heard mixed things

same thing happend to me a few months back, different update but same symptoms basically. what fixed it for me was doing a full reset through the dji assistant 2 app on a laptop rather than through the controller itself. you have to put the rc2 into that usb mode which is kind of annoying to figure out the first time but once you get it connected the assistant can push a clean firmware install and it cleared everything up. definitely worth trying before you start panicking about the job this weekend

dji support response times are all over the place honestly, sometimes 24 hours sometimes a week. id try the assistant 2 route like the other person said first. also check the dji forum because usually within a day or two of a bad update rolling out someone posts a workaround. if the update is causing widespread issues they sometimes pull it and that gets mentioned there before any official announcement
