our local group flight turned into a bit of a disaster lol

so we finally organized a group flight at the park we usually use, got maybe 8 people to show up which is more than i expected tbh. first 20 minutes were great then someone who shall remain nameless decided to do a low pass right through the middle of where three other people were hovering and clipped someones mavic. nothing too serious, props and a cracked arm, the guy was cool about it but it definitely killed the vibe for a bit. we ended up just kind of informally agreeing to call out before doing anything fast near the group. felt like something that should have been obvious but i guess not

anyway still a good time overall. thinking about doing it monthly if people are down. just need some ground rules next time

yeah that kind of thing happens when you get a mix of experience levels in the same airspace without any structure. even just designating a general flight direction or splitting the area into zones makes a huge difference. sounds like you guys handled it pretty well though, coulda been way worse

oof. we had something similar at a meetup i went to, guy was flying fpv goggles on and had no spotter so nobody knew where he was pointing until it was almost too late. its just one of those things you dont think about until somthing actually happens
