wtf is happening with my video feed on DJI O3 vs analog ? considering switching back

ok so ive been running analog for like 3 years, mostly on a 5.8ghz setup with a rapidfire module and fat sharks, worked great, never had any real complaints. then i built a new 5inch and decided to finally go digital with the O3 unit because everyone keeps saying its the future or whatever. and yeah the picture quality is genuinely insane, not gonna lie about that.

but i keep getting these weird latency spikes? like its not constant, its more like every few minutes the feed just sort of... stutters? and then it comes back. im flying in a pretty suburban area so maybe interference but i didnt really have this problem with my old TBS setup. also i notice it gets worse when i push range, which i know is kind of expected but it still feels worse than analog in that degraded-gracefully kind of way. analog just gets snowy, this just cuts out.

anyway not really sure if its my antennas or the unit itself or maybe my goggles (im on v2s). has anyone else had this? wondering if the switch back is even worth it at this point or if im just doing something wrong

yeah the cliff edge behavior is the thing nobody warns you about when they're hyping up digital. analog degrades gracefully, you get noise, you get warning, you can react. O3 just vanishes on you. tha

i had the same exact thing happen and for me it turned out to be my video transmitter was getting too hot, the O3 throttles when it gets warm and that can cause exactly those kinds of random dropouts.

yeah the cliff edge behavior is the thing nobody warns you about when they're hyping up digital. analog degrades gracefully, you get noise, you get warning, you can react. O3 just vanishes on you. that said the latency spikes you're describing sound more like something specific is off ? are you on the latest firmware? there was a pretty bad bug a few versions back that caused exactly that stutter behavior on v2 goggles specifically. also what antennas are you running on the air unit? the stock ones that come with it are honestly pretty mediocre, ive swapped mine for lollipops and it made a noticeable difference in consistency if not raw range.
