so this has been bugging me for a while. every time antenna selection comes up in a build thread someone always jumps in like ?make sure your vtx antenna and your goggles are both the same polarity or you'll lose like 3db? and i get the theory, circular polarization rejects multipath, mismatched polarity means signal loss, sure. but how much does it actually matter in practice when youre just bashing around a local field or flying proximity stuff where youre never really pushing range anyway.
i ask because i somehow ended up with a mix ? my quad is running a lumenier axii on the vtx which i think is rhcp and my goggles have a pagoda which i honestly dont even know the polarity of off the top of my head. and i fly fine. never noticed anything obviously wrong. so either im getting lucky or the whole polarity thing is slightly overblown for short range flying. genuinely curious what people's real world experience is not just the textbook answer
